- I just purchased a Tyan Tempest II motherboard which is EISA/PCI. I
- have a Cardinal MVP288IV fax/voice modem that is PnP. It is not
- recognized by Windows NT unless I boot into dos, run the PnP config,
- then soft boot to NT. While running the EISA config program, the
- program found the Cardinal modem. I'm wondering if anyone out there
- has successfull configured a PnP device when it resides on the EISA
- bus prior to booting into an OS. I know it is possible to send INIT
- commands to devices using the EISA macro language, but I'm a little
- vague on how to do that so that the modem would enable before it hits
- the OS. I realize that I'd have to set the IRQ and the Port address
- before enabling the modem. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions
- about doing this, or what I'd have to write to in order to do this?
-
- Thanks in advance!
